So you have a new mp3 player?

I think I'm going to put some music, and books on it. I can get some of my favorite author's books cheaper than if I bought the physical copy in a store, or for free from OCLS catalogue.

To burn or not burn

I'm O.K. with the copyright law's as they stand today, but I sometimes download a song to listen to it before I decide to purchase the album. If I like it I buy the C.D. then make copies. If I dont I erase the music and move on. I can see both sides of the issue.

Yellow Brick Road

I'm almost to the end of this journey, and I have to say it's been fun. Some courses were longer than others, but on the whole I've learned many things from OCLS 2.0.

The pics for our department on Flickr is under 101central special services.

P.S. until next time.

Can you bluf your way to the top

I like http://www.blufr.com/ it's pretty cool how they have it set up. It's fun to play and I'm learning something. I added the feed to my Blog, it's in the lower right hand side.

Library Services

I find it funny that http://www.libraryelf.com/ or Elf offers the same things that OCLS http://www.ocls.info/flashDefault.asp?bhcp=1 does, and there isn’t a third party to go through. It just goes to show you that Orange County Library System is continually on the forefront using technology for an advantage to our patrons. All of these things and more are free to OC residents:

Avoid overdues with email alerts
Check multiple library cards
Track books, DVDs, CDs, videos, etc.
Patrons of Orange County, FL, can now ask a Librarian a question and receive an answer by text message.

OCLS on myspace weird, but cool

I knew OCLS had a myspace account http://www.myspace.com/ocls but I never went to the site. Some of the comments are hilarious. The video "OCLS @ Otronicon 2007"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vs2xZSxqd1Q from YouTube is nice also.
Seomoz was o.k. http://www.seomoz.org/web2.0/ we looked at blog guides, Classifieds & Business Directories (I can’t believe craigslist came in first), and mapping.

Take Know for an Answer

I'm more of a visual learner so Grokker helped, but I'm also a tactile learner. For my RSS feeds I selected Itunes top 25 songs, Library Leader, and Dictionary.com among other things.

15 MINUTES

That's how long it took me to find an email address that wasn't taken. I'm surprised a message didn't pop up saying my time is expired. I can say that I'm very pleased with the end result.

p.s. If you're reading this then I'm going to apologize in advance. There is a good possibility that I'm going to ramble on in some of the postings on this blog.
